More progress on the Shedio!

It's got a roof!!!!!
Well, we've had the roofers in replacing the roof on our house, while Steve got going on the shedio roof. It's really coming together now.

I've been busy having fun at the torch!

Shedio Progress

You may remember last summer's photos. Well, Steve has spent the last few weekends measuring and cutting more wood, assembling windows, and planning for the next big step!!!!

Yesterday the garden looked like this...

Today, major progress has been made....

Hopefully, there'll be a roof later today!!!!

Glowing!

I've been having fun with glow in the dark glass!!!!

It's been a while

I've been a bit remiss in not posting for a while.
I've been pretty busy at te torch, but my beads have been flying off to distant shores, so I've not had much time to show.

Here is a bit of a taster of my most recent makes....

Chocolates and lentils!

Not an obvious combination, even though I am vegan!!!!

But, these are not edible, they are my latest glass lampwork beads, created at the flame.

First of all, a fun set of glass chocolates! These would look great displayed in a glass dish, and you'll not put the pounds on your hips!

And then lentils! These are actually circular focal beads, shaped with a lentil press. They make great pendants.

And finally, I followed a tutorial in the Soda Lime Times digital magazine, and finally got some colour out of my "magic" glass in these long and lean tubes. It's always great to master a new glass.

I've also turned some of my lampies into jewellery, but that's for another day.....

We had a long powercut yesterday, so I couldn't put the kiln on. So, I took the opportunity to tackle my large stash of semi precious beads and turn them into jewellery! It ended up being a fun and productive day. I've spent today listing them on my Purple Cobwebs website.....not quite so much fun!!!

Decadent Day off!

Well now that the tax return deadline has passed, life at the office resumes a less frantic pace!
I decided to treat myself to a day off.
So, me and my fella had a lazy morning, followed by lunch and a pint at the local pub.
We are really luck with our local pub, as they are always willing to whip up some vegan food for us.

Once we got back, I switched on th kiln and spent the next 3 or 4 hours at the toch. What a lovely day!

I've now to wait for the kiln to anneal everything overnight before I can peak.

But in the meantime, here's what I made at the weekend.....
